Precommitment is now open for KFK license plates!
We are so excited these are finally ready for purchase! Once we sell 1,000 they will go into production. So think of this as a "pre-order." We have been working hard on the license plates for a year and it is a long process, but it’s going to be so worth it! We hope you’ll consider precommitment so we will have these on the roads one day VERY SOON!
UPDATE ON KRUZ
On July 9th, Kruz received his mom, Jessica's, kidney! He is doing so well. The doctors thought he would be on the ventilator for three days, stay in ICU for several days, and be in the hospital for two weeks.
Kruz was off of the ventilator in 24 hours.
He was out of ICU in 48 hours.
He discharged from the hospital on DAY 8!
No more dialysis set up, figuring out which bags of dialysis to use... prepping and priming the machine.
Kruz is finally understanding. After the transplant, he was still a little unsure of how living without his dialysis machine would go. That was his lifeline for two years.
He gets it now.
His color is beautiful.
He’s free of cords.
He’s free of alarms.
UPDATE ON PAIZLEE
Tomorrow, August 2, Paizlee will be admitted to begin her stem cell transplant!
Super-Dad, Kyle, gave his first round of ⚡️SUPERPOWERS⚡️last week. He gave his white blood cell donation through something called apheresis. Large needles in both arms, one taking out blood, running it through the machine, filtering the WBC’s and returning blood to the opposite arm. This is a 5-hour process and WBC’s will sent to the lab, genetically modified and used as “BPX” cells given to Paizlee around Day +21 post-transplant for extra protection before discharge. The next collection will be the large stem cell collection with the same process to be used on transplant day.
August 5th, Paizlee will begin chemo. The transplant date was moved from August 12th to August 14th. Dr. Alice explained she wanted an extra rest day for Paizlee after a week of chemo/“conditioning” and before transplant. This is because we aren’t entirely sure how her kidneys filter the drugs. So, we want to make sure all chemo is filtered out of her body before we put the stem cells in her body. If there are leftover chemo drugs the kidneys didn’t filter it can kill off Kyle’s stem cells, so we definitely don’t want that.
